Palmer Group has partnered with our client in their search for a Vice President of Human Resources. The Vice President of Human Resources leads all company-wide HR strategy and operations, including talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, compliance, performance management, training, and culture development, while also supporting overall strategic planning. This executive partners with the CEO and CFO on budgeting and salary administration, ensures compliance with legal and federal subcontractor requirements, and oversees HR leaders across multiple locations. The role requires a bachelor's degree, 7-10 years of HR experience with supervisory responsibility, SHRM or HRCI certification, and strong expertise in strategic planning, change management, and employment law. What You Will Do:
- Remain a positive role model consistent with the company's culture
- Apply broad knowledge of the HR field to use specific tools (e.g. Engagement Surveys, Market-Based Pay, etc.) when needed
- Oversee culture, morale, and HR climate throughout the company, making recommendations and adjustments as needed
- Give strategy, direction, and methodology to Training and HR teams for company-wide training and local offerings
- Create and suggest legally compliant HR procedures and policies for handbook inclusion
- Oversee and submit the HR annual budget in conjunction with the CFO
- Support the CEO and CFO with annual review compliance in ADP and serve as a trusted advisor regarding salary changes and increases
- Use progressive and legal practices to source, recruit, hire, engage, integrate, and retain employees; maintain competitive pay ranges by ensuring an annual review of the job tiers/pay grades program
- Perform market research and compensation studies
- Manage employee benefit programs, including any audits or compliance activities
- Create and manage HR practices company-wide, including performance review, competency models, 360, training, valid selection practices, and succession planning
- Keep an eye on the national HR environment for opportunities for continuous improvement and compliance updates
- Ensure compliance with HR reporting and activities, including E-Verify, Affirmative Action Plans, EEO-1 reporting, and Vets-100A reporting
- Serve as a member of the Executive Team, the HIPAA Compliance Officer, and a member of the 401(k) Board of Trustees
- Attend seminars and conferences as required, and regularly travel to manufacturing facilities
- Oversee workers' comp safety programs and open claim case management
- Manage company strategy, agendas, tools, and meetings to guarantee the company continues in a forward direction
What You Will Need to Be Successful:
- 7-10+ years of HR experience with 2+ years of supervisory experience
- HR certification from HRCI or SHRM
- Experience in multi-site manufacturing (preferred)
- Proficiency with HR Systems (preferred)
- Experience with change management and managing initiatives
- Strong decision-making and consultative skills, with an excellent strategic vision
- Understanding of HR best practices and principles, with significant comprehension of valid hiring practices and legal requirements
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage stressful situations with ease
- Ability to create and foster effective relationships with customers, the public, and associates at all levels
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency with typing, data entry, Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word
