Mortgage Leader

Our client is seeking a Mortgage Leader to lead and grow mortgage lending across Central and Eastern Iowa. This role is focused on coaching and mentoring Mortgage Loan Originators, expanding referral relationships, and strengthening the organization’s presence with Realtors, Builders, Attorneys, and community partners. The ideal candidate is a proven mortgage producer ready to transition fully into leadership—someone who brings strong market credibility and can leverage relationships to drive team success.

What you will do:

• Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Mortgage Loan Originators, focusing on performance, pipeline management, and referral generation
• Drive growth by leveraging personal networks with Realtors, Builders, Attorneys, and community partners
• Support expansion plans, including hiring and onboarding new MLOs across markets
• Collaborate with marketing, operations, and commercial lenders to execute growth strategies
• Represent the organization at industry events, networking functions, and community activities
• Monitor local market trends, competitive activity, and emerging partnership opportunities
• Ensure strong member experience, operational execution, and adherence to lending and compliance standards

What you will need to be successful:

• 5+ years of mortgage sales experience with a strong personal production history
• Established referral networks; Builder relationships are a plus
• Readiness to move fully into a leadership and coaching role (not personal production-focused)
• Strong sales acumen, strategic thinking, and ability to influence others through relationships
• Understanding of mortgage products and programs (IHDA, FHLB, FHA, etc.)
• High integrity, strong communication skills, and a customer-first mindset
• Eligible to register with NMLS and maintain active MLO registration
• Ability to travel across Central and Eastern Iowa
