Our client, a well-established and expanding construction company in central Iowa, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Estimator – Heavy Highway Construction for their highway construction team. What you will do:

• Produce accurate, competitive bids and estimates by analyzing plans, costs, and market conditions
• Secure and negotiate vendor and subcontractor quotes while maintaining an up‑to‑date supplier database
• Monitor market pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors to ensure precise costing
• Manage bid follow‑up and project sales, including Iowa DOT and municipal paving opportunities
• Support operational efficiency by maintaining full crew schedules and improving estimating processes
• Transition awarded projects to project management with complete, organized handoff documentation

What you will need to be successful:

• 3+ years of estimating experience in the construction industry (highway construction experience preferred)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proficiency in math, MS Office, and verbal and written communication
• Experience with any of the following is preferred: Vista, B2W, BidX, BlueBeam
• Ability to function professionally and accurately under time constraints
