Our Iowa-based client, operating for over 100 years, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Project Engineer to join its growing engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for devising and executing efficient, budget-conscious automated manufacturing processes and methodologies that adhere to product specifications and quality benchmarks. They will oversee and manage the introduction of new or updated products into the manufacturing environment. What you will do:

  • Undertake research, design, and development tasks for manufacturing processes and product designs
  • Evaluate the viability and potential advantages of novel manufacturing processes and product designs, presenting findings to senior management
  • Pioneer and creates fresh designs to effectively tackle intricate manufacturing hurdles
  • Design and procure production equipment, robotic systems, and automation tools as required
  • Generate intricate CAD models and drawings to optimize the fabrication process

What you will need to be successful:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing or mechanical engineering within a production setting
  • Exhibited expertise in organization, problem-solving, and decision-making within manufacturing environments
  • Established success in designing machinery and machine components, covering shafts, bearings, motors, frames, fixturing, and similar elements
  • Direct engagement in two or more manufacturing processes, such as forging, stamping, casting, welding, machining, assembly, and injection molding
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a dedicated focus on collaborative teamwork
