Design Manager

We've partnered with a client in their search for a Design Manager. This leadership opportunity allows you to direct a talented, close-knit interior design team and influence major commercial development projects. What You Will Do:

• Guide and coach the interior design team, fostering collaboration and supporting professional development
• Direct project workflows, assign responsibilities, and prioritize incoming requests effectively
• Develop architectural designs for capital expenditure and tenant improvement projects, encompassing visioning, design development, and construction documentation
• Evaluate and authorize construction plans to ensure compliance with codes and safety standards
• Act as a trusted advisor for code compliance, BOMA standards, and Revit best practices
• Supervise coordination with vendors to maintain finish selections and pricing consistency
• Stay informed on workplace design trends and present innovative concepts to stakeholders
• Manage relationships with external architecture and engineering consultants for development and large-scale projects
• Analyze and validate design and engineering documents for accuracy and completeness
• Engage in client meetings and collaborate in internal design charrettes for build-to-suit opportunities

What You Will Need to Be Successful:

• Licensed Architect in Iowa and/or Nebraska, or the ability to obtain within 6 months
• 7+ years of architectural experience, including commercial projects; residential experience a plus
• 2+ years of team management experience
• Strong knowledge of BOMA standards and Autodesk Revit
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable engaging with clients and internal teams
