Power BI/Business Intelligence Analyst

A West Des Moines company is searching for a Power BI/Business Intelligence Analyst contractor to create, build, test, implement, and enhance their business intelligence (BI) reporting. This role will also be responsible for offering critical insights and analytics to guide strategic decision-making throughout the organization. Apply today to be considered!

What you will do:

• Create and maintain interactive dashboards, visualizations, and business reports to allow stakeholders to evaluate key performance metrics
• Partner with cross-functional teams to define requirements, identify data sources, and provide actionable recommendations
• Establish processes and tools to support ad hoc analytics
• Collaborate with developers to update/create views for report building
• Use Microsoft SQL to create complex queries that integrate data across multiple tables and give the information needed for report building
• Deliver training and operational support to enhance the end-user experience with BI Reporting
• Keep current with new industry trends, techniques, and tools related to data analytics and business intelligence
• Share technical issues, resolutions, and progress with the supervisor

What you will need to be successful:

• 2+ years of experience in creating and maintaining BI systems, analytics, and reports
• Experience using SQL queries and tools to extract data
• Proficiency with a primary reporting tool, including Tableau, Spotfire, Power BI, etc.
• Experience with decision modeling (required)
• Experience in agriculture (preferred)
• Demonstrated success with evaluating data flow and business processes to enhance internal reporting
• Expertise with gathering requirements and translating business needs into technical solutions
