Palmer Group is assisting its client in the insurance industry who is seeking an Account Manager – Commercial Insurance to add to their growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing service to our client’s customers, prospects, producers, and other agency staff. This role requires an understanding of property and casualty insurance products and services and excellent customer service and communication skills. Apply today if this job interests you! 


  • Maintain existing business, expand relationships with current clients, and assist in bringing new clients into the organization
  • Manage a book of house accounts and assist in the growth of that book of business
  • Meet with the team for pre-renewal meetings on qualifying accounts and development of client opportunities
  • Partner with Commercial Property and Casualty Producers to perform needs analysis of prospective and existing clients to identify new client solutions and agency revenue opportunities 
  • Analyze insurance policies and contracts to understand coverage limits, terms, and conditions
  • Send verification of insurance to third parties as requested by clients or regulatory authorities
  • Handle customer requests for policy changes, insurance certificates, billing inquiries, and claim submissions
  • Provide coverage interpretation and analysis for current and prospective clients
  • Assist in cross-selling and account rounding opportunities
  • Prepare Summaries of Insurance on renewal accounts and market renewal accounts as needed


  • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • At least 1+ years of Property and Casualty experience
  • Possess a comprehensive knowledge of commercial lines insurance products, coverages, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to read and understand insurance contracts
  • Must possess an active Iowa Property and Casualty Insurance license
  • Demonstrated track record of generating new revenue in the client management process 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to relate and interact with people in a friendly, professional manner 
  • Experience in building and managing client relationships, understanding their unique needs, and providing customized insurance solutions
