Accounting Analyst III

Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate accounting for complex transactions, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) regulations
• Execute close process through preparation or review of journal entries and reconciliations
• Participate in the preparation and review of internal, external and FHFA examiner audit requests
• Perform cross functional duties
• Research and resolve system and accounting issues
• Seek out and develop solutions to improve effectiveness of processes, identify and reduce risk, and promote efficiencies
• Adhere to and execute departmental regulatory guidance and internal controls, with particular focus on SOX 404 controls
• Analyze financial statements by looking at trends and market movements
• Coordinate, plan, and execute project responsibilities in accordance with policies and project expectations
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Finance is required, MBA/Master of Accountancy is desired
• 7+ years of related experience
• 3+ years of public accounting experience is a plus
• CPA designation is preferred
• Demonstrated experience with critical analysis and research
• Experience in financial analysis, vendor management, and/or project leadership
• GAAP knowledge
• Knowledge of financial instruments and capital markets
• Skilled with SEC reporting and SOX
