Our global, industry leading client is currently seeking our assistance in filling a critical role within their manufacturing operations in the form of an Automation Manager. Reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, this position will directly manage Automation resources and also consult on subject matters pertaining to automation, electrical, and instrumentation equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, PLCs, I/O systems, Networks, Motors, Motor Control, Instrumentation specifications and installation, Burner Management, BAS, and Electrical Power Distribution equipment. Responsibilities:
- Partner with Maintenance for electrical program ownership and ensure that proper electrical distribution maintenance is being performed.
- Review and make recommendations on new projects as well as creating/updating standards to be included in bid packages
- Participate in supplier and equipment reviews with the goal of streamlining projects, purchasing efforts, and helping reduce inventory costs
- Provide Instrument, Controls, and Electrical expertise to the Industrial Operations staff and communicating with appropriate stakeholders, budgeting/costing, assist with preparation and/or oversight of the development of AEI design & feasibility studies for projects at existing US facilities
- Collaborate with other site managers to provide input on personnel, projects, safe design, tools, compliance, equipment standards, maintenance practices, reliability, and behavioral methodology
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering preferred or a related discipline, Master’s Degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience with AEI (Automation, Electrical and Instrumentation)
- Experience with project management software
- Experience developing logic diagrams, one-line diagrams, panel/hardware design, and operator interface functional outputs
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including stakeholder alignment and interface management
- Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus
