This individual will lead a team of analysts in analyzing, planning, and designing software products for the organization, working with internal and external customers to ensure expectations are met. Responsibilities: 

  • Participate and lead the development of quality objectives, best practices, project standards, and procedures, including metrics for assessing progress

  • Utilize and enforce project standards, procedures, and quality objectives

  • Conduct project and program kickoff meetings, communicating individual roles and project expectations

  • Ensure that project team members have the tools and project-specific training required to perform effectively

  • Monitor project milestones and critical dates to identify risks and issues
  • Facilitate the creation and execution of corresponding mitigation plans to ensure that the project remains within the specified scope and meets budget and time constraints 
  • Prioritize efforts for large projects and programs that will be broken into multiple sub-projects

  • Demonstrate the ability to break down a complex task into components and document solution steps for the appropriate components at both the project and the program level

  • Demonstrate the ability to fully understand business objectives and proposed solutions and able to provide insight and factual knowledge to guide decisions

  • Collaborate and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization 
  • Answer customer questions in person and via phone on all company-supported applications

  • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

  • Oversee business systems analysts

  • Create and maintain a performance-based culture that supports efforts to accomplish ProAg’s mission and goals 
  • Coordinate with relevant parties to resolve any concerns, questions, or problems

  • Create systems to parallel overall business strategies

  • Write detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify applications

  • Research issues and escalate to Director of Software Development as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, BCIS or related fields or equivalent work-related experience
  • 5+ years of relevant and progressive experience in business analysis, product owner, or related field
  • 2+ years of crop insurance or agricultural field experience is preferred
  • Ability to identify related activities or tasks that are needed to produce a specific service or project and how a specific project impacts the overall program management of the business
  • Identify problems within the software development life cycle, the ability to identify and gather the critical resources needed to make a decision, and the facilitation skills to bring the group to an overall consensus
  • Demonstrated experience in working with peers and leaders in an organization to reach an understanding, resolve points of difference, or gain an advantage to satisfy a project or business need
  • Experience creating, updating, and reporting on the cost management components of a software development project throughout its life cycle
  • Extensive knowledge in working with Microsoft Project, HP ALM, or SharePoint
  • Broad experience creating software project plans within different software methodologies and utilizing various project management tools
  • Demonstrated ability to identify issues/risks early in the project life cycle and facilitate the following steps to reduce or eliminate the issue/risk
  • Established understanding of the scope of a project and the ability to ensure that additional work is not added without going through a predefined approval process
