Civil Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Project Engineer to join our client’s growing engineering team. The ideal candidate will have experience in railroad and bridge construction projects, with a proven track record of successful project delivery. The Civil Project Engineer will be responsible for assisting in all engineering and technical aspects of our client’s projects to ensure precision and compliance with national standards.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the planning, design, and execution of railroad and bridge construction projects
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives, timelines, and budgets are met
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical guidance to field personnel
• Prepare and review engineering documents, including drawings, specifications, and contract documents
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and safety standards
• Manage project resources, including materials, equipment, and labor
• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and stakeholders
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex engineering issues as they arise

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred
• Minimum of 1-2 years experience in civil engineering with experience in railroad and bridge construction a plus
• Strong knowledge of industry practices, standards, and regulations
• Proficient in CAD software and project management tools
• Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills

Work Model:

• On-Site
• Ability to travel 3-5 days a month to properties throughout Iowa, Illinois, and Nebraska
