Human Resources

We are assisting our client in their search for a Director of Human Resources. This leader will oversee recruiting and selection, employee relations programs, collective bargaining, evaluation process, and compliance. If you are an HR Leader who embraces change, explores new ideas, and seeks innovative solutions, this role may be for you. 

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret contract, policy, and handbook language
  • Provide oversight for recruitment and hiring processes, participating in interviews as needed
  • Conduct needs assessment and creates staffing plans
  • Approve recommendations-to-hire
  • Ensure new hires are provided a high-quality orientation and onboarding experience
  • Collaborate with the Finance department on matters related to employee compensation and benefits
  • Conduct investigations and recommend an appropriate level of disciplinary action
  • Conduct employee grievances through the process
  • Serve as chief negotiator for labor contract negotiations
  • Oversee and monitor the evaluation process
  • Maintain employee handbook and job descriptions
  • Mentor and supervise Human Resources staff
  • Serve as a Member of the Equity Committee

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree
  • HR certification
  • 4+ years of Human Resources Leadership experience, including supervision of others
  • Knowledge of budgeting procedures and management
  • Experience in a union environment, highly preferred
