Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols
- Provide training and support to employees on EHS policies, procedures, and best practices
- Oversee hazardous materials management, including handling, storage, labeling, and disposal
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess risks and implement effective mitigation strategies
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and develop recommendations to prevent recurrence
- Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices related to EHS management
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related field. Or associate degree in safety with other safety certifications (CHST)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS management, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment
- In-depth knowledge of hazardous materials handling, storage, and disposal regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA)
- Strong understanding of safety management systems, risk assessment methodologies, and incident investigation techniques
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification is preferred
- Experience with employee-owned companies or participatory management structures is a plus
