Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols
  • Provide training and support to employees on EHS policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Oversee hazardous materials management, including handling, storage, labeling, and disposal
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess risks and implement effective mitigation strategies
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and develop recommendations to prevent recurrence
  • Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices related to EHS management

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related field. Or associate degree in safety with other safety certifications (CHST)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS management, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment
  • In-depth knowledge of hazardous materials handling, storage, and disposal regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA)
  • Strong understanding of safety management systems, risk assessment methodologies, and incident investigation techniques
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification is preferred
  • Experience with employee-owned companies or participatory management structures is a plus
