Palmer Group has partnered with this established client on their search for an IFS Application and Database Administrator. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the IFS environment, including support of the utility servers, application, and database. You will also be required to perform database backups and copies, restore and monitor database performance and utilization, and all other database-related tasks for the IFS Oracle system.


  • Develop and maintain IFS Role Security and IFS Users
  • Develop and maintain IFS logic for Print Agent and extended server functionality
  • Develop and maintain Ad Hoc reporting access
  • Oversee IFS processing of background jobs, the configuration of batch queues
  • Copy databases during the implementation and support cycle
  • Communicate structural recommendations and changes
  • Produce Import/Export Areas
  • Perform data migration tasks, such as copying databases for migration stages and creating backups, modifying database storage for legacy data, reserving storage space for temporary data files
  • Enforce change controls standards on the IFS system
  • Collaborate with the development team on customizations, reports, and integrations
  • Oversee other system configuration changes
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Ability to accept responsibility and hold oneself accountable for performance
  • Must be a self-starter who takes the initiative

  • Possess a high aptitude for learning new processes, technology, and systems

  • Experience administering ERP systems, preference for IFS
  • Previous experience administering a Database environment, preference for Oracle
  • Previous experience working in an Agile environment preferred
  • Developed Microsoft Office skills with advanced Excel capabilities
  • Previous experience supporting a manufacturing organization preferred
  • Experience in Building Products Industry is a plus
