Lead Copywriter

Our client is seeking a Lead Copywriter to join their internal creative team! In this role, you will have the opportunity to deliver recommendations for multi-touch campaigns in the client’s brand and voice. This is a more senior-level role, so the ideal candidate will have proven experience translating complex information into intelligent, empathetic copy that people want to read. Responsibilities:

• Utilize impeccable writing and editing skills across tactics
• Develop creative themes, taglines, and concepts that can drive entire campaigns
• Research, learn and digest new and complicated information
• Look out for the reader’s interests
• Demonstrate a strategic mindset for collaborating with account managers to identify and recommend the client-specific content strategy
• Collaborate with graphic designers from concept to execution
• Proofread, pitch, present, and manage time well
• Build rapport with clients and nurture good working relationships
• Mentor junior writers

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or direct and applicable work experience
• 6+ years of marketing communications, creative writing, or communications essay experience
• Excellent creative writing skills, editing/proofreading skills, and attention to detail
• Knowledge of AP style
• Prior agency experience is strongly preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills 
• Self-starter with practical project coordination skills, including planning, time management, prioritization, organization, and the ability to oversee multiple priorities for the team
• Flexible and adaptable to changing preferences
• Strong portfolio of finished work showcasing copywriting excellence across a broad spectrum of media touch points
• Preferred experience in B2B and B2C marketing experience
• Insurance, financial services, or health care industry experience preferred but not a must
• Able to travel 5-10% of the time
