Positions are available in the following locations: Nevada, IA; Marshalltown, IA; and Carroll, IA.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform engine machining operations, including cylinder boring, honing, decking, and line boring, according to established procedures and specifications
  • Determine necessary repairs or modifications by inspecting, measuring, and evaluating engine components
  • Disassemble, clean, and reassemble engines, ensuring all components are in the proper working order
  • Utilize precision tools and equipment to accurately measure and ensure parts meet performance and quality standards
  • Collaborate with team members
  • Troubleshoot engine issues and develop effective solutions
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and regulations
  • Stay current with industry trends, techniques, and technologies to continuously improve skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in automotive mechanics is preferred
  • Experience working as an engine machinist or in a related field
  • Strong understanding of gas and/or diesel engines is preferred
  • Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on precision and accuracy in all tasks
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Training Schedule:

  • Train for approximately 6 months in order to learn the machinist job and gain experience
  • After training is complete, you will earn a commission on your projects in addition to your hourly pay
