Our Iowa-based client is growing rapidly and is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Agent to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a good work ethic, a passion for learning, and has a positive attitude towards change as the company grows. If you have experience in purchasing, supplier negotiation, and order management, we’d love to hear from you! Experience in forecasting is a definite plus.

As a Procurement Agent, you will play a critical role in securing and analyzing quotations, negotiating prices and terms, and maintaining positive supplier relationships to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery of high-quality materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Secure and Analyze Quotations
    • Request and evaluate quotations from various suppliers
    • Perform detailed analysis of quotations to ensure competitiveness and compliance with company standards
  • Negotiate Prices and Terms with Suppliers
    • Conduct negotiations to obtain the best possible prices and terms
    • Establish agreements that favor the company while maintaining supplier goodwill
  • Recommend Suppliers Based on Cost, Quality, and Delivery Competitiveness
    • Assess suppliers considering cost, quality, delivery time, and reliability
    • Provide management with recommendations for the best suppliers for specific materials and services
  • Develop and Maintain Positive Supplier Relationships
    • Foster strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers
    • Ensure open communication channels to facilitate smooth operations and problem resolution
  • Address Material Problems and Support Resolution with Suppliers
    • Resolve any issues related to material quality or delivery
    • Collaborate with suppliers to find effective solutions to material problems
  • Generate and Place Orders Efficiently
    • Create and process purchase orders accurately
    • Maximize opportunities to combine orders and reduce or eliminate freight costs

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred 
  • 3+ years of experience in a related field 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel) and/or familiarity with procurement software
  • Ability to work well in a team and maintain regular attendance

Work Model: 

  • On-Site
  • Monday – Friday 
  • 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
