Do you have proven experience leading a high-performing communications team?  Our client is seeking a Senior Manager, Internal Communications leader that will serve as a key collaborator with the executive leadership team and internal stakeholders, providing strategic communications counsel and consistent corporate messaging that supports the business strategy, culture, and brand through all communication channels.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage an internal communications strategy that increases employee engagement and commitment to delivering on business objectives.
  • Develop and implement effective corporate communications for all employee segments, including company-wide and targeted messaging that builds awareness, engagement, advocacy, and alignment around corporate priorities.
  • Lead communications strategy and messaging for high-stakes business communications such as merger and acquisition activity, new locations, and key business transitions.
  • Serve as an active member of cross-functional issue-management team.
  • Develop messaging for the ELT and senior leaders that align with strategic objectives.
  • Promote corporate culture, celebrate and recognize employee achievement, and increase employee engagement through communications, programs, and by example.
  • Help ensure leadership is attuned to the voice of team members.
  • Provides thought leadership and supports employer branding efforts internally in partnership with external communications team.
  • Provide internal communications support to cross-functional departments and corporate teams; builds relationships throughout the business.
  • Measure the effectiveness of communications and stay up to date on corporate communications trends and best practices. 
  • Directly supervises the internal communications team – responsible for the hiring, onboarding, development, and high-performance of team members and the team. 

 Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 10+ years’ professional communications experience, preferably in a corporate setting.
  • Exceptional written communications skills and ability to use original or innovative techniques
  • Demonstrated experience creating effective and persuasive speeches and presentations to top management, team members, and public groups.
  • Experience developing comprehensive communication strategies.
  • Familiarity with developing and managing a budget for a department.
  • Capability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • An understanding of all areas of an organization and vision to determine how communications and subsequent decisions affect all team members.
  • The agility to work and prioritize efforts in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Discretion to handle sensitive or proprietary company information in a confidential manner.
  • Advanced project management and communication planning skills. Ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently.
  • Experience with a range of communication technologies and channels such as intranet, email, social networks, engagement platforms, video production, content management systems, etc.
  • Strong collaborative and consultative skills. Ability to cultivate productive working relationships at all levels, gain the trust of business leaders quickly, and influence without authority.
  • High level of self-motivation and the ability to work independently, as a member of a team, as well as with all types and levels of employees.
  • Strong business acumen. Ability to translate complex business objectives into readily understandable communications for a variety of audiences.
  • Proficiency in various media platforms, both traditional and digital.

**Position may at times require heavy travel; estimate is that travel could be as high as 20% annually and may not be evenly spread throughout the year.
