Our central Iowa-based client is seeking a Senior Process Engineer with a strong background in manufacturing to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for identifying areas of inefficiency and cost within our manufacturing and production processes and implementing innovative solutions to optimize production efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall performance.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness
- Develop and implement innovative solutions to optimize manufacturing processes, reduce waste, and improve overall performance
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain, to drive process improvement initiatives
- Utilize data analysis and statistical techniques to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization
- Lead and support continuous improvement projects, ensuring timely implementation and sustainable results
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and production staff as needed
- Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to manufacturing processes and efficiency improvement
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, industrial, or related field) required
- 5+ years of experience in a process engineering role within a manufacturing environment
- Strong technical expertise in manufacturing processes, including but not limited to machining, assembly, automation, and materials handling
- Demonstrated ability to identify areas of inefficiency and cost within manufacturing processes and implement effective solutions
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive and results-oriented mindset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization
- Project management experience, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive them to successful completion
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and methodologies is highly desirable
Work Model:
- On-Site – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote
