Senior Staff Accountant

Palmer Group has partnered with an outstanding client in Houston, TX, for a Senior Staff Accountant on a direct-hire basis. If you have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and at least six years of relevant experience, you are qualified! Apply today to be considered.

Responsibilities:

• Perform monthly closing functions for subsidiary systems, prepare and post journal entries into the general ledger system, reconcile accounts to the general ledger, analyze and review financial statements, and prepare schedules and work papers as needed by the community
• Perform Percentage of Completion Accounting (POC)
• Help with forecasting and financial standards-setting processes.
• Review journal entries related to normal month/quarter-end close cycles.
• Maintain and document business processes and procedures
• Prepare required schedules and documentation for external audit firms

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
• CPA is a plus (would like candidate working towards CPA if you don’t have CPA)
• 6 plus years of experience
• NetSuite experience

Work Model:

• On-Site
• 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
