Senior System Administrator

Palmer Group is partnering with this established client to fill the Senior System Administrator position. Responsibilities:

• Analyze information to determine and recommend new computers and peripheral equipment and to plan for their layout and configuration
• Provide “ownership” of problems through final resolution
• Prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Modify or configure existing equipment and systems to meet ever-changing requirements
• Collaborate with partners/vendors to implement solutions or resolve issues
• Provide expert 3rd-tier support to employees as needed
• Assist with procurement for new, IT-related hardware and software
• Log all activity in the IT ticketing system
• Track and close tickets assigned
• Document all information on the solutions to issues in the tickets
• Create and maintain documentation in group wiki solution
• Follow all safety regulations
• Work a flexible schedule with 24/7 rotating on call availability

Requirements:

• 5+ years of strong system admin technical background
• Knowledge of Active Directory and related components
• Understanding of backup software/disaster recovery
• Experience with implementing security in a mixed-use environment
• Windows 10, Server 2012, 2016 and Server 2019 experience
• Understanding of virtual environments, specifically VMware
• Understanding of SAN technology
• Experience with Database technologies including Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience with Microsoft Cloud technologies including Azure, Office 365
• Understanding current network hardware, protocols, and standards, including TCP/IP, Fast Ethernet, RSP, VPNs, 802.1x, etc.
• Outstanding customer service skills
• Ability to interact with all levels of staff, including senior management
• Able to work independently AND as part of a global team
• Knowledge of VMWare products
