Palmer Group is working with a client in the renewable energy industry seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Technical Procedure Writer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for writing, reviewing, and maintaining technical procedures, manuals, and documentation to ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities:

  • Develop, write, and revise technical procedures, work instructions, and manuals for various operational processes
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), engineers, and operations personnel to gather information and ensure the accuracy of documentation
  • Ensure all documentation meets company standards for quality, clarity, and consistency
  • Conduct regular reviews and updates of existing procedures to reflect changes in technology, operations, and regulatory requirements
  • Utilize document management systems to organize and track documentation versions and approvals
  • Participate in safety and compliance audits to ensure all procedures are up-to-date and correctly implemented
  • Provide training and support to staff on the proper use of technical procedures and documentation tools
  • Stay current with industry best practices, standards, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical writing, engineering, communications, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in the energy sector or a related industry
  • Strong understanding of technical writing principles and documentation processes
  • Proficiency with documentation tools and software such as Microsoft Word and Excel, editing PDFs, and document management systems
  • Ability to prioritize a number of projects that are all in different stages
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO, etc.) is preferred
