What you will do:
- Oversee daily accounting functions (AP, AR, GL) while mentoring a small team
- Foster accountability, collaboration, and open communication through structured team meetings and performance development
- Take full responsibility for the month-end close process, ensuring all deliverables are accurate and completed on time
- Monitor daily cash activity and support the company’s broader cash strategy by maintaining accurate logs and reports
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of sales and use taxes and maintain full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Identify opportunities to elevate processes and team performance
- Serve as the go-to person for accounting excellence
What you will need to be successful:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business
- 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with a preference for construction industry experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor accounting professionals
- Experience working in small-to-mid-sized teams is preferred
- Highly organized, self-driven, and ethical
- Ability to balance accuracy with efficiency in a dynamic, detail-focused environment
