We are currently seeking a driven and detail-oriented Controller to lead their accounting team and play a key role in the financial health of their growing organization. Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Accounting Manager will lead a small team of Accounting Specialists and oversee key financial functions. This hands-on role includes financial reporting, inventory control, internal audits, and continuous process improvement. What you will do:
- Oversee monthly and annual close processes
- Prepare accurate financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Analyze financial data and provide actionable insights
- Manage and report on department budgets
- Ensure timely vendor payments with proper documentation
- Analyze AP/AR metrics to identify areas for optimization
- Drive effective collections strategies and maintain healthy cash flow
- Coordinate with operations on cycle counts and inventory reconciliation
- Analyze purchase price variances and cost controls
- Act as the point of contact during annual external audits
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal policies
- Design and enforce robust internal controls
- Identify process inefficiencies and lead improvement initiatives
- Support, mentor, and manage accounting staff
- Promote best practices and cross-functional collaboration
What you will need to be successful:
- Bachelor’s in accounting (CPA preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a strong preference for experience in manufacturing, logistics, or distribution industries
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably Sage X3 or similar
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to manage priorities in a growth-oriented environment
