Palmer Group is partnering with an industry-leading manufacturing company looking to add a Director of Sales to their growing team. As the Director of Sales, you will sit on the organization’s leadership management team and play a pivotal role in driving the company’s strategic planning, sales, marketing, and overall growth initiatives.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the corporate sales and marketing strategies and the benchmark goals for measurement of progress
- Manage the existing customer base while seeking market opportunities that fit overall corporate goals
- Select, develop, and manage the personnel that will help meet company objectives
- Oversee the quarterly management review process to evaluate progress and adjust strategies
- Establish company objectives and targets, particularly in the sales and marketing areas
- Track monthly progress towards goals and develop action plans if goals are not being met
- Measure customer satisfaction in key areas and address customer concerns promptly
- Select, develop, and manage sales and customer service personnel to ensure they fit the profile for success
- Facilitate the product design and development process and set strategic pricing for customers and the market
- Develop strategies and implement all external promotional activities, including trade shows and advertising
- Develop and implement the selling process for their OEM and aftermarket customers
- Analyze company sales against goals to identify areas for improvement
- Track and analyze customer satisfaction data and concerns
- Review OEM sales performance
- Evaluate individual performance against goals to ensure accountability and progress
- Track new dealer sales and their impact on overall business growth
- Review key customer annual sales growth projections to determine market direction and potential impacts
- Conduct weekly sales meetings to discuss key issues and develop action plans
- Meet with sales personnel weekly to support them in achieving territory objectives
- Meet with the organization’s President weekly on Monday mornings to discuss department objectives and seek input on processes
Requirements:
- Education: 4-year college degree, preferably in marketing
- Experience in the material handling or OEM industry is required
- Proven experience in a top management role with a focus on strategic planning, sales, and marketing in an industrial environment
- Ability to understand technical information and blueprints and effectively communicate with employees and customers
- Experience usingExcel, Word, PowerPoint, and CRM software packages (ACT)
- Ability to work with all levels of an organization to move key accounts forward
- MBA is desirable for this strategic position
- Understanding of industrial market channels, product positioning, and pricing strategies
- Proficient in mathematics and statistical understanding is a plus
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
