We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Dispatcher to join our locally-owned, growing client’s team in Des Moines. In this role, you will be responsible for scheduling and dispatching deliveries, pickups, and maintenance requests. Those with experience in logistics or servicing are highly preferred. - Monday – Friday
What you will do:
- Respond to customer inquiries and service requests promptly via phone, email, or online channels
- Schedule and coordinate delivery, pickup, and maintenance of portable units
- Allocate daily routes to field technicians
- Handle customer complaints and service issues
- Keep accurate records of all customer interactions, service requests, schedules, and technician activities
- Follow up with customers by calling or messaging to confirm service satisfaction, gather feedback, and address any additional needs.
- Function as the main point of contact for field technicians
What you will need to be successful:
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years of experience in customer service, dispatching, or a similar role, preferably in the service or logistics industry
- Proficiency with dispatching or scheduling software, GPS tracking systems, and basic office applications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to self-motivate and work without constant supervision
- Critical thinking skills and ability to handle scheduling conflicts, customer complaints, and other operational issues
- Knowledge of the service area or geographic region to support route planning and efficient dispatching
