We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated HEDIS Nurse Specialist to support chart abstraction for the upcoming HEDIS season. In this role, you will review and abstract clinical documentation from medical records into a data collection tool to evaluate the quality of care provided to Medicaid members. What you will do:
- Conduct timely and accurate chart abstraction for eight HEDIS measures, ensuring completeness and adherence to guidelines
- Support the abstraction process through clinical review, administrative tasks, and quality assurance activities
- Collaborate closely with the abstraction team to meet project plans, timelines, and contractual requirements
- Provide regular progress updates to management regarding abstraction status and activities
- Participate in training, weekly clinical reviews, and overread sessions to ensure high-quality abstraction
- Communicate professionally with healthcare organizations to request additional medical record information and ensure timely receipt of documentation
What you will need to be successful:
- RN or LPN license (active and in good standing)
- Five years of experience preferred in provider collaboration, population or public health, or healthcare quality improvement
- Hands-on experience with chart-based HEDIS measure abstraction
- Experience participating in overread processes
- Familiarity with clinical documentation workflows, chart request processes, and healthcare settings
- Understanding of healthcare quality principles and compliance standards
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working in a virtual/remote environment
- Preferred experience with:
- Healthcare services, organizations, and programs
- Information management processes
- Electronic health records (EHRs)
- Healthcare IT systems
