In this role, you will be responsible for compiling and reviewing statutory-basis filings and related supporting documentation, as well as maintaining and improving existing statutory reporting processes and controls. You will also oversee the preparation and reviewing of annual audited financial statements for insurance entities and non-insurance subsidiaries. What you will do:
- Oversee the preparation and review of quarterly and annual statutory financial statements
- Supervise the work of multiple Accounting team members to complete various daily, weekly, and monthly accounting and reporting tasks
- Guide a diverse team of employees, managing the employee life cycle and experience, including selection and retention of talent, continuous feedback, performance management, reward and recognition, corrective action, and employee development
- Analyzestatutory balances in conjunction with quarterly and annual reporting processes
What you will need to be successful:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, plus five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in accounting and/or financial reporting roles or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Experience in the life insurance industry is required
- Experience in statutory financial reporting is required
