Mechanical Engineer

Palmer Group is assisting our client, a global manufacturer with centrally located facilities, in filling the role ofMechanical Engineer. This position offers a balance of design work and hands-on machine improvement, supported by a robust engineering team. The successful candidate will lead continuous improvement projects, focusing on scrap and waste reduction. Work model:

  • On-Site
  • 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

What you will do:

  • Serve as the technical mechanical lead in the assigned area
  • Lead continuous improvement and corrective action projects, prioritizing scrap and waste reduction within the CFT
  • Monitor and evaluate existing systems, processes, and technologies, recommending modifications and enhancements
  • Discuss with the maintenance team to determine the root causes of machine failures and develop countermeasures to prevent reoccurrence
  • Design and develop project scope, budget, and justification/feasibility

What you need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field
  • 1-3 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Inventor software programs
  • Familiarity with SAP for procurement and project cost tracking
  • Background and understanding of machine design
