What you will do:
- Design gating, riser, and chilling system to ensure compliance with all customer specifications
- Determine optimum tool design for the manufacturing processes alongside the tooling engineer and pattern shop
- Design trial casting programs and review them through all manufacturing, inspection, and dimensional departments
- Interpret inspection results, investigate nonconforming castings, and institute corrective actions
- Investigate and resolve production problems
- Review customer drawings.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining work instructions for all process areas
- Learn and understand customer and regulatory specifications
What you will need to be successful:
- Degree in engineering required or a 2-year degree in a technical discipline with significant foundry experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of foundry engineering experience
- 5+ years of sand casting experience
