Our construction client has recently collaborated with Palmer Group while searching for the next Project Accountant to join and enhance their team. Together, we are looking for an individual with the right knowledge and skills to be a supportive leader within their accounting department. The ideal individual will possess a strong project accounting background and the ability to drive efficiency. What you will do:
- Oversight of projects as related to identifying and resolving issues and ensuring compliance
- Manage contract values and cost budgets within the accounting system, making adjustments as necessary
- Review and approve supplier and subcontractor invoices per project
- Obtain waivers/releases from suppliers and subs
- Review and approve timesheets related to projects
- Responsible for the accuracy of coding on project revenue and expenses
- Review and process change orders
- Track and review any unbilled jobs and provide them to management
- Monitor equipment assigned to jobs
- Assist with WIP reports
- Communicate with all levels of the organization, both internal and external
What you will need to be successful:
- Associate’s degree or higher preferred, equivalent experience also considered in place of degree
- 1-3+ years of related accounting experience within a related position
- Construction or manufacturing industry background is highly preferred
- Ability to learn accounting and billing software systems
- Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
