Our manufacturing client, located an hour southwest of Des Moines, is looking to hire an experienced Sales Project Manager. This individual will be responsible for a large book of business with a focus on maintaining long-term relationships through a long and complex sales cycle. Qualified candidates will have experience working in a foundry or manufacturing environment and navigating long sales cycles with unique products. What you will do:
- Serve as lead contact for all customer accounts, including government-related accounts that require high confidentiality due to the complexity of products
- Deepen relationships and understanding of client business needs and operations
- Negotiate contracts and RFPs including quoting products and services
- Work cross functionally with senior leaders for continuous process improvement
- Manage ship dates, order entry via customer portals
- Coordinate all engineering or quality issues related to customer product
- Manage multiple large products at a time
- Conduct contract reviews and navigate negotiations
- Inform engineering and quality leadership on customer feedback for product improvement
- Update customer on product timelines, including delivery status
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve prices on customer programs
- Develop and deliver presentations on product capabilities to current and prospective customers
What you will need to be successful:
- Minimum 5 years of inside sales and/or account management experience; preferred manufacturing or foundry experience but flexible on industry
- Ability to present professionally both through verbal and written communication
- Experience working with unique and complex products
- Mechanical experience or aptitude
- Ability to travel onsite to meet customers
