What you will do:
- Create and qualify Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), and Welder Performance Qualification Records (WPQR) per AWS, ASME, and other industry standards
- Implement process improvements to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency, including supporting robotic welding integration
- Provide technical guidance on joint design, welder accessibility, weld distortion, and defect prevention
- Conduct Engineering Drawing Reviews (EDR) and recommend changes to improve manufacturing outcomes
- Develop training programs for welding operators and Quality Assurance personnel, ensuring proper weld inspection procedures
- Enforce safety regulations and proactively address hazards while adhering to company and regulatory standards
What you will need to be successful:
- Bachelor’s degree in welding engineering, materials engineering, metallurgical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or equivalent career experience
- Expertise in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), metallurgy, and industry welding codes (AWS D1.1, AWS D14.3)
- Hands-on experience with robotic welding systems, including specification, implementation, and programming
- Relevant AWS certifications, such as Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Welding Engineer (CWE), or the ability to obtain certification post-employment
