What you will do:
- Design and develop stamping tooling, including strip layouts, simulations, die construction, and press specifications
- Manage tooling programs from sourcing to production readiness, including tracking progress and updating timelines
- Develop and maintain Die and Gage standards, and improve current and new tooling sources
- Coordinate between tooling suppliers and internal teams, and assist in procurement of production materials
- Troubleshoot dies, manage tooling maintenance schedules, and use data-driven approaches to minimize costs and downtime
- Facilitate communication across facilities, oversee new tool builds and repairs, and ensure compliance with standards
- Provide engineering support for production dies, train floor personnel, and coordinate new machinery and tool deliveries
- Evaluate product designs for manufacturability, design high-precision stamping dies, fixtures, and gages, and participate in design reviews and cost estimations
What you will need to be successful:
- 10+ years of experience in Tool and Die Engineering/Stamping tooling
- Proficient in CAD, with experience in 2-D (AutoCAD, Solid Edge) and preferably 3-D (Solidworks, Inventor) design packages
- Strong understanding of ANSI/ISO drawing standards, GD&T dimensioning, and knowledge of Wire EDM/CNC machining technologies
- Familiarity with tool steels, commonly stamped metals (cold-rolled/stainless steels), and die sensors/vision inspection technology
- Proven ability to read/interpret GD&T and engineering specifications, estimate stamping die costs, and manage timelines
- Exceptional analytical skills, multi-tasking abilities, and experience working independently and in team environments
