This individual will design various materials and manage product development projects. What you will do:
- Complete design work for metal parts, plastics, fabrication, and mechanical assemblies
- Foster innovation and technological advancements in product development by conducting research, creating prototypes, and performing tests to bring products to market
- Oversee and schedule several product development projects while maintaining cost and quality
- Discover opportunities for development in new products, processes, quality improvements, cost savings, product line expansions, and productivity enhancements
- Collaborate with manufacturing partners on changes to existing products and the engineering and design of new products
- Maintain technical documentation for products and projects, including drawings, calculations, spreadsheets, test plans, test reports, and specifications
- Train personnel on specialized R&D procedures
What you will need to be successful
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry
- 10+ years of related experience with advanced polymers required
- Experience with molding processes
- Ability to operate analytical laboratory, mixing, and testing equipment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once
