Join this established client’s team as a Capital Project Engineer (Fluid Handling) and become part of a leading company in the industry!     Work model:

    • On-Site
    • The preferred location would be based out of Omaha, Nebraska, but could also be based out of other locations in West Virginia, North Carolina, Massachusetts, Texas, Alabama, Wisconsin, or Oregon

    What you will do:

    • Design fluid blending, storage, and handling systems
    • Manage projects supporting company expansion and cost reduction
    • Identify opportunities to reduce costs and increase productivity
    • Improve plant equipment and instrumentation
    • Select and configure components for fluid handling and measurement
    • Design piping and select pumps for various liquids
    • Develop layouts for production equipment
    • Manage capital projects, controlling scope, schedule, and budget
    • Estimate engineering time, material, labor costs, and implementation schedules
    • Participate in project implementation and ensure systems meet specifications
    • Provide engineering advice to operations and management
    • Maintain engineering documentation and standards
    • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts

    What you will need to be successful:

    • Experience in fluid handling design
    • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering preferred
    • Experience in capital project management
    • Experience with equipment vendors and contractors
    • Proficiency in 3D CAD applications (AutoCAD & Revit preferred)
    • Experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Ability to analyze data for process improvements
    • Engineer In Training (EIT) certification would be beneficial

    What you will do:

    • Perform diagnostics, repairs, preventative maintenance, and emergency service on industrial equipment, including cranes, scales, conveyors, and packaging systems at customer sites
    • Operate the test truck for large-scale calibration projects requiring certified weights and assist with minor equipment installations and load testing
    • Collaborate with shop technicians to share knowledge, support team goals, and maintain a safe, organized work environment
    • Conduct annual inspections, complete service reports, and ensure all documentation meets regulatory standards
    • Communicate directly with customers to explain work performed, recommend additional services, and support parts ordering through the inside sales team
    • Expand product and technical knowledge through manufacturer and on-the-job training programs

    What you will need to be successful:

    • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in a technical field preferred
    • Electrical knowledge, mechanical aptitude, and diagnostic proficiency
    • Valid Class B CDL and Driver’s License required, with Clearinghouse registration
    • Familiarity with technical manuals and the ability to perform equipment repairs, inspections, and maintenance
    • State Scale Technician License required, along with a strong commitment to safety
    • Effective communication and customer service skills, plus basic computer literacy
