Our client is seeking an energetic Outside Sales Representative to join their Des Moines sales team. Work Model:

  • On-SIte
  • Less than 50% local travel flexibility
  • Occasional evenings/weekends

What You Will Do:

  • Prospect and develop new business opportunities by connecting with builders, contractors, and homeowners while building strong, lasting relationships
  • Strengthen and grow a personal portfolio of accounts by nurturing existing clients and expanding a reliable partner network
  • Deliver and close tailored solutions by creating proposals, recommending products, and aligning pricing and terms with customer needs
  • Oversee projects from kickoff to completion, ensuring clear communication, safe practices, and a positive customer experience throughout
  • Analyze and anticipate industry shifts by tracking competitors, market changes, and product developments to provide valuable insights
  • Achieve and improve financial performance by hitting sales goals, assisting with collections, and contributing feedback to support business decisions

What You Will Need to Be Successful:

  • 3+ years of outside sales experience in construction, building products, or a related industry, with a high school diploma required and a bachelor's degree preferred
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining a book of business, with strong industry relationships
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, paired with a goal-driven, self-motivated, and resourceful mindset
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and specifications, recommend solutions, and manage projects from sale through completion 
  • Familiarity with construction products and market dynamics
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and basic technology
