Chief Financial Officer

Palmer Group is partnering with a well-established, privately held organization in Central Iowa in its search for a Chief Financial Officer. This is a key executive leadership opportunity for an experienced financial leader who enjoys being closely connected to the business and influencing decisions beyond the finance function. Working directly with the CEO and executive leadership team, this individual will help shape long-term strategy, strengthen financial and operational performance, and provide leadership across several critical areas of the organization.

What You Will Do:

• Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team on financial, operational, and business decisions
• Lead financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, reporting, accounting, and overall financial strategy
• Provide financial and operational insights that help leadership identify opportunities, assess risk, and improve business performance
• Guide capital allocation and support the evaluation of investments and long-term growth opportunities
• Oversee tax strategy and planning, audits, compliance, and the organization’s financial control environment
• Identify opportunities to improve profitability, manage costs, and strengthen operational efficiency
• Provide executive leadership and direction for technology and international HR functions
• Partner with the CEO on shareholder relationships, legal matters, and other strategic initiatives
• Lead, develop, and mentor high-performing teams while strengthening succession planning and leadership capabilities

What You Will Need to Be Successful:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including significant senior-level responsibility
• Broad financial expertise across accounting, financial planning and analysis, forecasting, tax, risk management, and compliance
• Proven ability to operate as a strategic business partner and contribute to decisions beyond traditional finance
• Strong leadership experience with a track record of developing people and building effective teams
• Ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable business recommendations
• Strong business judgment with a collaborative, hands-on leadership approach
• Experience working within a complex, multi-location, or international organization preferred
• CPA, CFA, or similar professional designation preferred
• Experience with technology strategy, ERP systems, or IT leadership is a plus
