Paralegal

Palmer Group is partnering with a firm seeking a professional Paralegal to join its team. This individual will provide clerical and research support services, including document preparation and review, to a company committed to growth and development and to experts in their practice. Work Model:

• On-Site
• Monday – Friday
• 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

What You Will Do:

• Assist attorneys by providing clerical and research support services, including document preparation and review
• Prepare and answer discovery, including organizing and maintaining large volumes of documents and preparing them for production
• Create initial drafts of basic court filings, letters, and other documents
• Assist attorneys with electronic discovery and presentation software, including reviewing and organizing documents in electronic databases
• Prepare records and bill summaries
• Organize and prepare outlines and summaries of records for internal use and presentation to the client
• Conduct research and background searches from various sources such as Iowa Courts Online, PACER, and other public information websites
• Process time entry and billing according to firm guidelines

What You Will Need to Be Successful:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
• 2+ years of prior paralegal or legal assistant support experience
• Quick and accurate analysis of issues
• Proficient in proofreading and editing documents, ensuring accuracy, comprehension, and overall grammar
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Energetic, organized, detail-oriented, and disciplined, with the willingness to work hard
• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to manage workflow and work under tight deadlines and other time constraints, with competing and shifting priorities
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Strong analytical skills, technical aptitude, critical thinking, analytical, and customer service skills
