Palmer Group is partnering with a reputable and growing company in Cedar Rapids on the search for a Continuous Improvement Engineer. They will be responsible for driving improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity across distribution and production environments. This role leads data‑driven initiatives to optimize warehouse operations, material flow, labor utilization, production efficiency, and inventory accuracy by applying Lean, Six Sigma, and industrial engineering principles. What You Will Do:

  • Lead continuous improvement projects in receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and production
  • Analyze material flow, layouts, and labor to improve throughput and reduce waste
  • Use Lean tools (5S, VSM, Standard Work, Kanban, SMED) to eliminate inefficiencies
  • Improve fulfillment, replenishment, kitting, and packaging processes
  • Develop KPIs and dashboards to track productivity, accuracy, and cycle times
  • Lead Kaizen events and cross‑functional improvement initiatives
  • Support business cases and execution for automation or process‑related capital projects

What You Will Need to Be Successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field
  • 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing, distribution, or production operations
  • Hands‑on experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and leading Kaizen events
  • Strong analytical ability, project management, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and results orientation
  • Mix of office and warehouse/production settings; occasional lifting up to 40 lbs
