Payroll Supervisor

Our client is searching for a Payroll Supervisor to lead payroll compliance operations and oversee a team responsible for union payroll reporting, certified payroll, employment verifications, garnishments, and related regulatory requirements. What You Will Do:

• Lead and supervise payroll compliance activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to regulatory and contractual requirements
• Manage a team responsible for union reporting, certified payroll, garnishments, child support orders, employment verifications, and new hire reporting
• Review, audit, and approve compliance-related payroll transactions, filings, payments, and reports
• Maintain and monitor union deductions, fringe benefits, prevailing wage requirements, and other compliance-related payroll processes
• Coach, develop, and support team members while managing performance, workload distribution, and training initiatives
• Partner with Payroll, HR, Accounting, Operations, and external agencies to resolve issues and support audits, reporting, and compliance activities
• Drive continuous improvement by maintaining procedures, identifying process efficiencies, and ensuring deadlines are consistently met

What You Will Need to Be Successful:

• 3+ years of payroll experience, including exposure to payroll compliance, union payroll, or certified payroll reporting
• Previous supervisory, team lead, or people management experience
• Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, garnishments, employment verifications, and multi-state payroll practices
• Experience working with union agreements, compliance reporting, prevailing wage requirements, and audit support
• Proven ability to analyze complex payroll issues, solve problems, and maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
• Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders
• Proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Office applications; experience with enterprise HRIS platforms is preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)
• Experience with enterprise payroll systems such as Workday (preferred)
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification or similar professional designation (preferred)
