Accountant

We are assisting our client in the Ames area with their search for an Accountant. In this role, you will work directly with clients and handle various accounting duties. The position offers a family-friendly, laid-back environment and a flexible summer schedule.

Work Model:

What You Will Do:

• Prepare and review bank reconciliations
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries
• Generate and analyze monthly financial statements
• Resolve client issues promptly
• File monthly sales and use returns 

What You Will Need to Be Successful:

• Associate's degree or higher in accounting or related field; equivalent years of experience also considered 
• Prior experience within client accounting, bookkeeping, and tax is preferred
• Fundamental knowledge of Iowa sales and use tax regulations
• A strong user of QuickBooks and Excel
