Our client is searching for a dedicated Senior Controls Engineer to make a huge impact by providing support for design, development, and integration of advanced control systems for unmanned ground vehicles. What You Will Do:

  • Complete software development, investigative analysis, hardware selection, and systems engineering activities with supervision
  • Create and review safety-critical controls software for both unmanned and optionally manned ground vehicles
  • Evaluate test data, diagnose system failures, and recommend improvement measures
  • Create and maintain system architectures and requirements
  • Perform integration testing across simulation and field environments
  • Provide on-site support for supplier and customer tests (off-site travel)
  • Maintain software source code and artifact configuration management
  • Oversee multiple projects, leading projects of limited complexity
  • Develop technical reports, presentations, and documentation
  • Support cost analyses, project planning, proposal development, and feasibility evaluations
  • Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and external resources regarding technical matters
  • Apply CMMI Level 3 and software safety processes to engineering activities
  • Prioritize and coordinate work and tasks
  • Perform additional duties as needed

What You Will Need to Be Successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science with 3+ years of related experience
  • Proficiency in embedded controller development using C/C++, Simulink, and/or Structured Text
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Skilled with version control systems
  • Ability to acquire U.S. Secret security clearance
  • Proficiency with SysML and Systems Engineering processes (preferred)
  • Experience with requirements management, release management, version control, and peer review processes (preferred)
  • Comprehension of safety standards, including UL 4600, MIL-STD-882E, ISO 26262, and IEC 61508 (preferred)
  • Expertise in software development for on-road or off-highway vehicle control systems (preferred)
  • Proficiency in creating networked communications (V2V, Ethernet, CAN Bus) (preferred)
  • Comprehension of vehicle electrical systems and mechanics (preferred)
  • Previous Agile software development experience (preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills (preferred)
