Our client is looking for a Process Engineer to support foundry engineering operations by developing and improving casting processes to meet quality, cost, and throughput goals. The position focuses on troubleshooting production issues, maintaining process controls, and supporting compliance with quality standards. The engineer works closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve nonconformances, optimize performance, and drive continuous improvement across aluminum and magnesium casting operations.

What You Will Do:

  • Create and refine casting methods to improve quality and process efficiency
  • Monitor processes to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards
  • Troubleshoot issues across melting, molding, heat treat, and finishing
  • Analyze production data to reduce scrap and improve yield
  • Maintain accurate work instructions and process documentation
  • Lead process improvement initiatives, including lean and material optimization
  • Coordinate with maintenance to improve equipment and tooling performance
  • Support trials, validation runs, and new process or material implementation
  • Investigate nonconforming material and implement corrective actions
  • Interpret inspection results and ensure proper documentation
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams on root cause analysis
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures and applicable quality systems

What You Will Need to Be Successful:

  • Bachelor’s or technical degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in a foundry or industrial manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on knowledge of casting processes
  • Familiarity with casting techniques, alloys, and solidification behavior
  • Experience with SolidWorks or casting simulation tools preferred
  • Ability to work directly on the production floor with cross-functional teams
  • Working knowledge of quality systems and standardized work practices
