The Composites Engineering Technician supports a surge in active composite manufacturing projects by providing hands-on technical support across development, process improvement, and production activities. This role is part of a broader effort to add experienced contributors who can step in quickly and help execute work tied to increased program demand, including UAV composite development, thermal process improvements, and day-to-day production support. This position is highly shop-focused, working closely with engineers and production teams to troubleshoot issues, update documentation, and help maintain process consistency. What You Will Do:

  • Perform and support composite layup activities, including pre-preg materials and complex geometries
  • Provide hands-on shop floor support to troubleshoot production issues and improve process stability
  • Create, update, and validate work instructions and manufacturing documentation
  • Support engineering change processes and maintain related documentation
  • Assist with new product introduction activities, including routing updates and process setup
  • Utilize ERP systems to manage routings, updates, and production data
  • Support continuous improvement efforts tied to scrap reduction, quality, and throughput

What You Will Need to Be Successful:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in composite manufacturing, including pre-preg layup for complex geometries
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T principles
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools, inspection practices, and manufacturing documentation/work instructions
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, production routing workflows, and general manufacturing processes, including CNC
  • Experience supporting prototype or development composite builds
  • Associate’s degree or technical certification, with familiarity in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD)
