Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Operations – Construction to provide strategic oversight across multiple projects and project teams from preconstruction through completion. This role focuses on driving planning excellence, operational consistency, financial performance, and risk management while developing project leadership talent across the organization. They serve as a senior resource for project managers and field leadership, helping establish execution strategies, remove obstacles, strengthen client relationships, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with organizational objectives. What You Will Do:

  • Provide executive oversight for multiple construction projects from planning through completion
  • Guide project teams in developing execution strategies, schedules, staffing plans, and risk mitigation efforts
  • Mentor and support project managers and field leaders to strengthen performance and accountability
  • Monitor project financial performance, forecasting accuracy, and profitability objectives
  • Partner with preconstruction teams to ensure project readiness, scope alignment, and constructability
  • Support client relationships, contract strategy, change management, and issue resolution activities
  • Help build high-performing project teams through coaching, staffing, and talent development
  • Drive operational improvements, planning consistency, and a strong culture of safety and collaboration.

What You Will Need to Be Successful:

  • 10+ years of construction project management experience
  • 3+ years of leadership experience overseeing project teams
  • Industrial construction experience preferred; large, complex commercial construction experience also considered
  • Early-career field experience in a construction role such as project engineer, superintendent, foreman, or similar
  • Strong knowledge of planning, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management
  • Degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
