Des Moines-based company is looking for a Senior Security Analyst to serve as a technical leader within the cybersecurity area. This role leads investigations into significant security events, drives improvements to controls and processes, mentors junior analysts, and acts as a trusted advisor to IT leadership and business stakeholders on risk-based security decisions. What You Will Do:

  • Lead and support complex cybersecurity incident response activities, including containment, remediation, recovery, and post-incident analysis
  • Develop, refine, and optimize detection capabilities across SIEM, EDR, and other security monitoring technologies
  • Proactively identify threats through targeted threat hunting informed by intelligence sources, adversary behaviors, and organizational telemetry
  • Advise on security architecture and design considerations for new applications, systems, cloud services, and infrastructure initiatives
  • Drive vulnerability management efforts through risk-based prioritization, remediation guidance, and exception governance
  • Partner in the creation, enhancement, and maintenance of security policies, standards, and procedures aligned with NIST CSF, CIS Controls, and applicable regulatory requirements

What You Will Need to Be Successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • At least five years of progressive information security experience demonstrating increased scope and responsibility
  • Proven experience managing cybersecurity incidents through all phases of the incident response lifecycle, including detection, containment, eradication, and recovery
  • Strong technical knowledge in multiple security disciplines, including SIEM, EDR, firewalls, identity and access management (IAM), and cloud security platforms such as Azure and/or AWS
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards, including NIST CSF, CIS Controls, and/or SOC 2, with experience applying and operationalizing controls within a production environment
  • CompTIA Security+ certification preferred
  • Industry-recognized certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, GCIH, GCIA, or GSEC preferred
