A growing and dynamic organization in the Ankeny area is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join its accounting team. This role will oversee sales and use tax compliance, manage business licensing and regulatory requirements, and support a variety of accounting and financial operations. What You Will Do: 

  • Prepare, file, and reconcile sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes and financial reporting
  • Research tax regulations and ensure state and local compliance
  • Provide ERP system support and drive process improvement initiatives
  • Analyze tax and general ledger accounts, including reconciliations and journal entries
  • Assist with audits, tax notices, and compliance-related inquiries
  • Manage business licenses, registrations, renewals, and state licensing requirements
  • Support inventory accounting, accounting research, and special projects
  • Prepare management reports and collaborate on cross-functional accounting and operational initiatives

What You Will Need to Be Successful: 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 3+ years of accounting, tax, or financial experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with sales and use tax compliance and reporting
  • Public accounting, multi-state tax, and ERP experience preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • CPA certification (or progress toward CPA) preferred
