What You Will Do:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning activities
  • Lead account reconciliations, month-end and year-end close processes, and financial analysis
  • Oversee payroll-related accounting activities, including benefits, retirement plans, and incentive compensation programs
  • Prepare regulatory and statutory reporting and ensure compliance with applicable requirements
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support financial and operational objectives
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, automate workflows, and enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency
  • Assist with audits, internal controls, and other accounting projects as needed

What You Will Need to Be Successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes
  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, payroll, employee benefits, and retirement plan accounting
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting, ERP, and payroll/HRIS systems
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, solve problems, and improve processes while using strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred
  • Insurance industry and/or public accounting experience preferred
  • Experience regulatory or statutory reporting, leveraging automation, AI tools, reporting technologies, or process improvement initiatives preferred
