As a Sanitation Supervisor, you will lead the sanitation effort to ensure our facility maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. You will oversee and coordinate sanitation activities across all shifts, working closely with the operations and quality teams to develop and execute effective sanitation schedules. Your role will involve training staff, managing chemical inventories, and ensuring compliance with all safety and food safety regulations. What You Will Do:

  • Supervise and lead sanitation team members across all shifts, including assigning tasks, setting priorities, and supporting team development
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the master (periodic) sanitation schedule in coordination with plant operations
  • Ensure all sanitation activities adhere to company policies, SSOPs, safety protocols, and environmental standards
  • Review and monitor compliance with sanitation schedules, procedures, and environmental monitoring results
  • Act as the liaison with sanitation chemical suppliers, managing chemical inventory, validation activities, and communications
  • Provide training and ongoing development for sanitation staff and other plant personnel on sanitation best practices and safety
  • Conduct random pre-operational inspections to verify compliance with sanitation standards

What You Will Need to Be Successful:

  • Strong knowledge of food industry-standard cleaning chemicals, their storage, measurement, and proper use
  • In-depth understanding of Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and best practices for plant sanitation
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience supervising sanitation teams, directing work across multiple shifts, and developing staff
  • Ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and sanitation manuals with ease
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for report creation, data analysis, and training materials
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve sanitation issues promptly
  • Familiarity with food safety programs such as SQF and GMP audits
